While the Earth whirls around at thousands of miles an hour (regardless what those Fixed Earthers want you to believe) and winds howl, oceans heave, the moon pulls, and I sit.
I sit on my hands, I sit at my desk trying to figure out how I fit into all this.
I saw an artist named Richard Notkin on Craft in America on PBS last night who made amazing teapots and ceramic tiles that all dealt with anti-war themes. He quoted Ghadhi as saying something to the affect of: Even the mightiest machine can be stopped by tiny grains of sand if enough get into its works.
Well, I can only do what I can do...
So let me be the first to say that I am a leftist anti-ist. I am tired of the political games being played at the expense of minorities, women, children, or basically anyone who isn't rich. I think that humans are smart enough to make a world that is enjoyable to all people, but we're going to have to take equality and fairness seriously.
There are so many people in this world who think that they are alone. We are all hurtling around this universe together. We are imprisoned on this planet, and the condition is terminal. So we might as well learn to get along. Ignorance is the number one problem, and the US seems to be the number one exporter of this world wide.
Why don't I leave the US then? My two beautiful girls. For reasons that I'm sure I'll get into later, I cannot leave and bring them along. Hence, I'm staying put.
This is my first post, so I'll keep it short. This photo pretty much sums up how I feel about the state of the world...
Awww...Fuck. seem I have a lot to learn about blogsville.
Stay tuned.
